Frequency planning for clustered jointly processed cellular multiple access channel

    Get PDF
Owing to limited resources, it is hard to guarantee minimum service levels to all users in conventional cellular systems. Although global cooperation of access points (APs) is considered promising, practical means of enhancing efficiency of cellular systems is by considering distributed or clustered jointly processed APs. The authors present a novel `quality of service (QoS) balancing scheme' to maximise sum rate as well as achieve cell-based fairness for clustered jointly processed cellular multiple access channel (referred to as CC-CMAC). Closed-form cell level QoS balancing function is derived. Maximisation of this function is proved as an NP hard problem. Hence, using power-frequency granularity, a modified genetic algorithm (GA) is proposed. For inter site distance (ISD) <; 500 m, results show that with no fairness considered, the upper bound of the capacity region is achievable. Applying hard fairness restraints on users transmitting in moderately dense AP system, 20% reduction in sum rate contribution increases fairness by upto 10%. The flexible QoS can be applied on a GA-based centralised dynamic frequency planner architecture

Islamic law came from the Government's policy on the use privileges Aceh. The policy was born from the central level to the local level. The Aceh government to make policies against Islamic law. The policy has many dimensions, so as to understand the necessary steps to analyze some of the government's policy toward Islamic law. Therefore, as the author would like to do some research about the policy and its effects on the implementation of Islamic law in Bireuen which aims to determine government policy and its effects on the implementation of Islamic law in Bireuen. To get answers to these research goals, the author uses qualitative research methods with descriptive approach, the author will describe the policy and its influence against implementation of sharia in Bireuen. Data collection techniques that the author did was to observation, interview and documentation study. While the authors do perform data analysis stages of reduction, display, and the data trigulasi. The research results are 1) The government's policy towards the implementation of Islamic law in Aceh and Bireuen in particular is still limited to the preparation of work programs, various activities of the work program is expected to encourage the creation of Islamic law that kaffah, 2) The people consider that the implementation of Islamic law need for evaluation of various systems implementation, so that within 12 years the application of Islamic law can give change to people's lives on earth Serambi Mekkah, 3) Support from the public and the DPR Aceh a provision for the government in implementing Islamic law in Aceh, however improvement legal framework relating to Islamic law need to be resolved, as well as the strategic plan implementation of Islamic law in Aceh

Islamic Currency Swap: Can Be the Best Way to Hedge Indonesia Hajj Fund?

The operational costs of Hajj in foreign currencies will always face the risk of changes in exchange rates. Hajj operational costs will continue to grow in line with the increasing number of pilgrims. But at present, the government (BPKH) does not have a currency hedging policy to reduce the risk of fluctuating currency values. Hajj operational costs are saved in rupiah, dollar and riyal currencies. As a result, deposits of pilgrims will continue to be overshadowed by the reduction in value due to the depreciation of the rupiah against the dollar and riyals. Hedging policy is a necessity in the management of Hajj funds. This study will use an Islamic currency swap simulation analysis. According to the MUI DSN No 96 in 2015, a swap is a contract that starts a spot transaction followed by a forward agreement by setting a forward exchange rate. Then it is settled by spot transactions using the agreed forward exchange rate. The results of the study show that the dollar and riyal in 2018 are in a state of high volatility, so hedging is needed to reduce cash outflows. Based on analysis, Islamic currency swap can be the best hedging to the operational costs of Hajj in USD is with tenors 30 days, 180 days, 360 days. while the operational costs of Hajj are in Saudi Arabia Riyal currency, efficient in overnight tenors, 30 days, 90 days and 180 days

Dual-band, double-negative, polarization-independent metamaterial for the visible spectrum

We present the first dual-band negative index metamaterial that operates in the visible spectrum. The optimized four-functional-layer metamaterial structure exhibits the first double-negative (i.e., simultaneously negative permittivity and permeability) band in the red region of the visible spectrum with a figure of merit of 1.7 and the second double-negative band in the green region of the visible spectrum with a figure of merit of 3.2. The optical behavior of the proposed structure is independent of the polarization of the incident field. This low-loss metamaterial structure can be treated as a modified version of a fishnet metamaterial structure with an additional metal layer of different thickness in a single functional layer. The additional metal layer extends the diluted plasma frequency deep into the visible spectrum above the second order magnetic resonance of the structure, hence provides a dual band operation with simultaneously negative effective permittivity and permeability. Broadband metamaterials with multiple negative index bands may be possible with the same technique by employing higher order magnetic resonances. The structure can be fabricated with standard microfabrication techniques that have been used to fabricate fishnet metamaterial structures.Comment: 26 Pages, 6 Figures, 2 Tables, 2 Medi

The structure of Australian residential energy demand

This paper presents the first national-level econometric estimates of the residential energy demand system for Australia. We estimate an Almost Ideal (AI) demand system for electricity, gas, and other miscellaneous fuels (mainly oil and wood) using quarterly data for both the country as a whole and for a panel of the five most populous States. The national data set covers the period from 1969 Q3 to 1998 Q2, while the state level data is only available from 1984 Q3 onwards. According to the national-level data, the pairs of electricity and miscellaneous fuels and gas and miscellaneous fuels are significant substitutes, whereas electricity and gas - the two main fuels - may be complements. The panel model, in contrast, finds significant substitution possibilities between gas and miscellaneous fuels only. The cross-price elasticities between electricity and gas are positive but not significant. The gas own-price elasticity is zero in the national model and unit elastic in the panel model. A national model estimated over the same shorter time period still shows complementarity between electricity and natural gas but most results are insignificant. Both large time-series and cross-sectional dimensions are valuable in estimating elasticities. Compared to North American estimates, our results show greater own price and income elasticities for natural gas and the miscellaneous category. They also show more substitutability between natural gas and the miscellaneous category.

Residential energy demand in Australia: an application of dynamic OLS

    Get PDF
This paper reports estimates of the long-run elasticities of residential demand for electricity, natural gas and other fuels for Australia. The dynamic OLS (DOLS) framework is used to estimate logarithmic demand equations with previously unpublished national-level quarterly data. Significant substitution possibilities are found between electricity and gas and between electricity and other fuels. However, the cross-price elasticity of gas with respect to the price of residual fuels is negative. Our results are similar to other Australian and North American estimates but are more theoretically consistent than previous Australian estimates. We confirm that Australian residential energy demand is much more price responsive than North American residential energy demand.

Ovarian Dynamic in Ongole Grade Cattle After GnRH Injection in Ovsynch Protocol Based on Progesterone Device

PO cattle have weaknesses to show clear estrus signs which cause difficulty in artificial insemination implementation. The present study was designed to obtain ovarian dynamic as effect of GnRH injection in ovsynch protocol based on progesterone intravaginal device. Heifers (18) and cows (n= 12) were allocated to one of three groups. Cuemate-PGF2α (CP) group inserted with a Cuemate on day 0-7 and injected with prostaglandin on day 7. Cuemate-PGF2α-GnRH (CPG) group was treated as CP group with the addition of GnRH injection on day 9. GnRH-Cuemate-PGF2α-GnRH (GCPG) group was treated as CPG group with addition of GnRH injection on day 0. Ultrasonography was performed on days 0-3, day 7 until ovulation and 7 days after ovulation. Percentage of ovulation synchronization increased significantly (P<0.01) between CP, CPG, and GCPG, respectively, both in heifers (16%, 50%, and 85%, respectively) and cows (0%, 60%, and 100%, respectively), on day 11. Preovulatory follicle diameters between CP, CPG, and GCPG treatments were not different significantly both in heifers (11.9±0.5, 11.9±0.5, and 12.1±0.6 mm, respectively) and cows (11.7±0.4, 11.8±0.7, and 11.1±0.6 mm, respectively). This study concluded that GCPG protocol increased the synchrony of ovulation rate both in cows and heifers, without affecting the follicle preovulatory and CL diameters
